This is a ten day introduction to mountaineering course. We help you develop a set of alpine climbing skills for rock, snow, from the basics on up, and as we progress through each set of skills, we will provide you with a lot of practice climbing so you can develop in each technique. You will learn technical systems and develop sound mountain judgment while becoming aware of alpine hazards and risk management strategies for the alpine environment.
Throughout this course we'll be helping you observe and analyze climbing routes, terrain features, and hazards so that by the end of the program you will have developed the ability to travel safely through a rugged and complex environment while in rope teams on basic alpine routes. We will spend most of our time in the same range as Gannet Peak, the highest peak in Wyoming
