Thank you Carolina Day School 8th graders for a wonderful retreat! It is a bit lonely now that there is no more chatter in Tucker inn dining hall and no more “oooo’s and ahhhh’s” at the waterfront as you see your class mates get launched off the Blob.
I enjoyed learning with you about the complexities of where our food comes from at Hickory Nut Gap Farm. It was an delicious journey around the globe. Who knew making a meal involved going to the global market place to get everything you needed. I can’t believe Chad was able to trade all their Millet grain for those Bananas from Ecuador!
To cap at off, you sure do know how to celebrate! I was truly a feast. Best wishes in your 8th Grade year!

Ryan,
The 12 of us at Emma Community Garden today had the MOST wonderful time! Some kindergarten and first grade students came to the garden while we were there, and you would have smiled to see how our 8th graders interacted with them to pick vegetables and plant seeds for food for the Emma community. “The cherry on top” of our most successful Overnight.! Thanks again for all of your help.
Thank you, It was a delight to work with you all! I am glad to hear the service went well and it does not surprise me at all that they worked so well with the kids! I hope the semester is going well!
